Sehnsucht, or longing, is something we are all familiar with. What are you longing for? What if everything we longed for externally, was a substitute for what we already have on the inside? What if our addictions to e.g., alcohol, illegal drugs, food, or love, were here for us, to point us toward something that provides us with everlasting peace and joy? We are wired for connection and instead of feeling oneness, we were brought up to believe that we are separate. We long for connectedness, yet through our addictions, we separate ourselves from all there is.

In this book Friederike Grosse shares her insights into various addictions and provides an answer to what may seem impossible; 'How can I live a life free of longing?’

The framework she applies was inspired by a Course in Miracles as well as Eckhart Tolle’s teachings. Friederike reveals how we can return to the light within us, that connects us to all there is and thus make our lives more peaceful and joyful. The only way out is through, and this is what makes this book remarkably helpful, as it prompts the reader to go on a personal journey and reflect on the ever-present Sehnsucht that we all seem to experience.
